Malaysia Won’t Be On Your Travel Wish List But It Should Be

Would you like to go on a fantastic and unforgettable trip this year? There’s only one destination I would recommend, and that’s Malaysia. For whatever reason, I don’t see Malaysia at the top of many people’s wishlists. It’s certainly not been mentioned on that many blogs for keen travelers and that’s a shame because it has a lot to offer. From fine cuisine to incredibly sites and experiences, Malaysia has everything you could want in a vacation and much more.

Trek Up Mount Kinabalu

Mount Kinabalu is close the city of Borneo, and it’s an impressive sight, even from the bottom. The towering peak is 4095 meters high, and it takes two days to reach the top. Are you brave enough? My one piece of advice would be, don’t look down! The steep trek takes you around the edge of the mountain and in some places, there’s no safety rail. It’s completely open meaning that one wrong step could result in a rather nasty tumble. Don’t worry there are trained tour guides to take keen travelers up to the top and back down again. A spectacular view of the surrounding landscape and the city awaits you at the top. It’s a challenging climb, but one that is well worth traveling.

Island Getaway

If you’re in Malaysia, you must travel to one of the region’s many islands. Redang Island is by far my favourite and don’t be too surprised if you find you don’t want to leave this tropical picture perfect paradise. Aquamarine oceans stretch for miles into the distance with not a cloud in the sky to spoil the mood. Pick a spot on the sea salt colored sands for an excellent bathe in the sun. Or, be a little more adventurous and take a leap of faith off one of the piers. You can even rent a boat and explore the island from a whole new perspective.

Delicious Delights To Dine On

There are plenty of restaurants to explore in Malaysia, particularly if you’re heading to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. If you’re wondering where to eat in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, I’ll tell you you’re spoiled for choices. I bet you’re wondering what type of dishes they serve here. There are plenty of delicious seafood meals that you must try from crunchy crab to cream filled crustaceans. Don’t worry if you’re not into seafood because there are plenty other options as well!

Walk Through The Sky

On Langkawi Island, there’s a cable car, that will take you high, into the mountain realms. Quaint little villages await and perhaps my favorite attraction of all, the skywalk. The skywalk is a massive bridge that stretches from one mountain to another. Think of that little river bridge in London and then times the size and height by a hundred. You’ll be pretty close to what awaits you here. If you’re brave enough, you can walk right across it. But I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re scared of heights. It can be quite a shock to the system.

You see, I bet now you’re dying to visit Malaysia and explore all the wonders it has to offer.
